The Department of Dentistry & Maxillofacial Surgery has been growing with the United Christian Hospital since the establishment in 1973. Throughout these 50 years of service, it has become one of the largest centres of the territory in the field of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Craniofacial Orthodontics. We comprise of a dedicated team of more than 35 full time staff, committed to providing the best possible outpatient, inpatient and operative specialty services. We offer a wide spectrum of comprehensive services, ranging from essential dental procedures to complex maxillofacial surgeries.
 
Our Department is one of the pioneering and leading centres in the management of obstructive sleep apnea, cleft-lip palate, craniofacial syndromes as well as oral oncology in the Hospital Authority, as United Christian Hospital is one of the tertiary and quaternary referral centres for these disease modalities. Rooted in the concept of multi-disciplinary collaboration, we have close linkage with Head & Neck surgeons, ENT surgeons, pediatric surgeons and other allied health. Together as a cohesive and efficient multi-disciplinary team composed of experienced medical specialists with state-of-the-art facilities, we strive to deliver high quality integrated and patient-centred treatments for complex medical conditions.
 
In 2019, we established Cross-Cluster Maxillofacial Service Networking among Kwong Wah Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, Caritas Medical Centre, Tseung Kwan O Hospital and Hong Kong Children's Hospital. Being the figure head hospital of this network, our vision is to ensure service excellence in different premises by optimizing resources allocation and providing a strong clinical governance.
 
Being one of the recognized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training centres in Hong Kong, we aim to nurture future competent Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of an international standard by fostering strong links with reputable regional and international professional bodies. We have been working closely with the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong in conducting clinical research, delivering holistic clinical care and undergraduate teaching.
